Sincere sympathy is extended to Anne Sheehan, Castletown, Kilflynn on the death of father, Michael ‘Mike Joe’ Aherne, Marian Crescent, Ballybunion. May he rest in peace.
The death took place of Sheila Harmon, (nee Stack) (Garrynagore, Lixnaw, and late of Tournageeha, Listowel, on Friday 6th April, (peacefully) at Listowel Community Hospital, loving wife of the late James; sadly missed by her loving daughter Patricia, son-in-law Jimmy, brother Kevin, predeceased by her sisters Kit and Eileen, sisters-in-law, nephew, nieces, grandchildren, relatives and friends, to whom we offer our deepest sympathy.

THE LATE DIARMUID GALVIN
It was with great sadness we learned of the death of Diarmuid Galvin, Crotta, Lixnaw on Monday Morning 9th April (peacefully) at his residence. He will be sorely missed as a true friend and gentleman, always honest and straightforward with good humour and a positive attitude to life which he transmitted to all he met. He was a quiet and unassuming popular person and it was reflected by the large number of people that came to pay their respects and attended his funeral at his residences on Monday evening, at Stack’s Funeral Home, Lixnaw on Tuesday evening, followed by removal to St. Michael’s Church, Lixnaw. The funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr Maurice Brick Lixnaw and Fr Gerard O’Connell, Irremore, to an overflowing congregation, on Wednesday Morning. Fr. Brick who was a great support to Diarmuid and his family since he was taken ill. The beautiful music and hymns was rendered throughout the mass by The O’Sullivan brothers, Gene and Fergus. After the funeral Mass, Diarmuid was interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kilflynn,
His coffin was draped in the Green and Red colours of his beloved Crotta hurling club, and an impressive guard of honour, comprised of past and present club members and his former players and current players from the Coiste na nOg, The Senior club and club officers, flanked the funeral cortege on both days. Diarmuid was also held in high esteem by his Former work colleagues at Kerry Group and The Lixnaw Golf Society who also formed a guard of honour on Tuesday evening.
We offer our prayers and sympathies to his wife Eileen, his sons Jer and David, brothers Kevin, John, Tom, Dan and Pat, his uncle, aunts, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours, and a large circle of friends. May the light of heaven shine on his soul.

Sympathy Crotta Coiste na nOg would like to express sincere sympathy to the Galvin family on the recent death of Diarmuid Galvin, Crotta. Diarmuid was instrumental in organising underage hurling in the 1970’s and 1980’s and coached so many young lads in those years. Some of the current coaches at the Club would have been coached by Diarmuid and he gave them a great love of the game. No matter how you played or how much you were beaten Diarmuid always gave you hope for the next match. One of his great achievements was to guide Crotta to a minor County Final in 1981 where they were unlucky to lose to an older St Brendans team. Diarmuid also trained the victories Crotta u-14 hurlers to County Championship title in 1980. As a mark of respect to Diarmuid the mentors of the U12 Crotta team decided that the number 10 jersey would not be worn last Friday evening in the games against Ballyduff and Na Gaeil. May Diarmuid Rest In Peace.
