EGG PAINTING AND DECORATING COMPETITIONS

The county athletic finals will be held this coming Saturday and Sunday, the 23rd and 24th of June, in the Riocht athletic track, Castleisland. The programme of events will begin on Saturday, with the parade at 10.00a.m. followed immediately with the heats of the 200m. All the heats of the other competitions will follow on, concluding with the heats of the relays in the evening. Sunday’s programme begins at 10.30a.m. with relay semi-finals.
Our area number this year is 2. All competitors have to wear their area number when competing.
U8 events take place on grass with all other events on the track. Athletes are advised to wear footwear when running on the track as it is quite difficult and dangerous to run barefoot on it.
We would like to wish all our athletes the best of luck and we hope that they leave Castleisland with lots of happy memories and some new found friends.
Our thanks to Trevor O’Connell who trained the athletes over the past few weeks and to Abbeydorney GAA for the use of the sportsfield.
On behalf of community games we would like to wish Abbeydorney N.S. and Killahan N.S. the best of luck in their Cumann na mBunscol finals this week.
