CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS
The four numbers picked out of the drum by Independent Observer, Eileen Brennan, Rae, Kilflynn for the weekly Crotta Hurling Club Lotto draw were: 4,12,27 and 28 at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn , on Monday 2nd July, with a Jackpot of 7,600. However no one came up with the correct combination of numbers and the Jackpot survived for another week. The Lucky dip prizes winner each receives €35: Mick O’Donnell, Ballysheen, Abbeydorney, Kathy Predergast, Ballyduff and Joe Twomey, Dublin. Joe bought his lucky ticket on line. Next week draw take place in Herbert’s Bar on Monday night 9th July with a Jackpot of 7,700. UNDER 15 HURLERS
Crotta under 15 hurlers had a 2-07 to 2-05 victory over Lixnaw in the North Kerry Under 15 Division 1 Championship at Lixnaw on Tuesday evening 29th June.

UNDER 12
Crotta Under 12 hurlers had a 4-06 to 3-05 victory over Ballyheigue on Wednesday evening 27th June in Ballyheigue in the County League.

MINOR HURLERS
Abbeydorney / Crotta minor hurlers defeated Ballyduff 5-17 to 2-6 in the Keanes Super Valu Minor Hurling League. The Crotta hurling club was represented by Tom McElligott, The Village and Tom McElligott, Leam on the Abbeydorney/ Crotta Team.

SUMMER OUTING

SUMMER CAMP
A Summer Camp will be held at Abbeydorney Parish hall for children between the ages of 2 ½ years and 6 years. The camps will be held on; Monday July 9th to Friday July 13th. Monday August 13th to Friday August 13th. The camp will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm each day.
The camp will include activities such as, arts and Crafts, baking, sports, play-doh, games, face painting and lots more activities. For further information Contact Maureen Spillane on  087 1253680 .

FUNDRAISING CYCLE IN FRANCE FOR KILFLYNN N.S
Best of Luck to Brendan Mahony from Kilflynn will embark on a fundraising cycle event stretching over 152km of L’Etape du tour Act 1 on Sunday 8th of July . This cycle will follow route 11 of this years Tour de France, high in the French Alps from Albertville to La Toussuire. Brendan’s weekly training routes have included the short mountain just outside Traleeand the Conor pass, Dingle. All the money raised will go towards the financing of St. Teresa’s N.S. Astro-Turf pitch in Kilflynn, which when developed will be of a huge addition to the ongoing development of this north Kerry national school. SENIOR HURLERS
Crotta played their near neighbours Lixnaw at the Sportsfield, Dromakee In the County Senior Hurling League Div 1 on Sunday in a very heavy underfoot conditions. Crotta were first on the scoreboard with a point from Sean Weir after 6mins, Ricky Heffernan in 11min levelled with a free for Lixnaw. Crotta went ahead again with a free by Shane Nolan and extended their lead with a well taken goal by Shane Nolan after 17mins, both sides swapped points before half time leaving the score 1-04 to Crotta 0-02 to Lixnaw.
Lixnaw restarted the 2nd half aided by the strong breeze and clawed into Crotta’s lead with two early frees by Ricky Heffernan leaving the goal separating the sides. Shane Nolan added another free but was cancelled out by a free by Ricky Heffernan, Crotta’s Sean Weir scored a fine point from out near the far side line but John “Tweet” Griffin put over another point for Lixnaw. Ricky Heffernan and Shane Nolan both put over 2 frees each to leave 3 points between the teams going into the last 5 mins, A long puck out by Lixnaw’s goalkeeper Mike Conway broke kindly inside the Crotta backs and James Flaherty flashed the ball to the net to level the scores. Crotta attacked with time running out but could not get the better of the Lixnaw backs, and with game in stoppage time , Lixnaw were awarded a free on the 45 which pointed by Ricky Heffernan to give them a victory on 1-09 to 1-08 final scoreline .

CROTTA KELLOGS CUL CAMP 2012
The GAA Cúl Camps will run again at Crotta Hurling club this coming summer from 
Monday July 30th to Fri Aug 3rd and we are encouraging all juveniles aged between 6 and 14 years of age to sign up to the Cúl Camps. After very successful football camps over the past three years, we are hoping that as many youngsters as possible will attend again this year. Cost for first child is €55. It is €45 for second child of same family and €40 for third child of the same family.

UNDER 10 HURLING BLITZ
The North Kerry Under 10 Hurling Blitz was postponed in Abbeydorney on Saturday 30th June due to the weather.
