CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS
The four numbers picked out of the drum by Independent Observer, Ballyduff Hurler, John Paul Leahy, Laccamore, Abbeydorney for the weekly Crotta Hurling Club Lotto draw were: 3,7,11 and 12 at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Monday 30th July, with a Jackpot of 8,000. However no one came up with the correct combination of numbers and the Jackpot survived for another week. The Lucky dip prizes winner each receives €35: Mary Long, Abbeydorney, Tom Long, Abbeydorney and Eileen O’Connor, Liseereen, Abbeydorney. The next draw will take place in Herbert‘s Bar, Kilflynn on Monday night 6th August with a Jackpot of 8,100. COUNTY SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP
On Sunday afternoon, 29th July at Austin Stack’s Park, Tralee, Crotta Senior hurlers had a very bad day at the office, when they were well defeated by Kilmoyley by 3-26 to 0-08 in the Garveys Super Valu Senior Hurling Championship round 1. Kilmoyley led at the interval by 1-13 to 0-05. A Considerable improvement and lot of heart is needed against Lixnaw on this Saturday evening 4th August, at Austin Stacks Park if Crotta are to stay in this year’s competition. Crotta U13 team played two matches in the last week. They played Ballyduff in Ballyduff and at one stage found themselves 11 points behind to the home side. They showed great spirit in the last 20 mins to draw the match on a scoreline of Crotta 3-08 Ballyduff 5-02. Their second match was against Abbeydorney and they wonn on a scoreline of Crotta 6-08 Abbeydorney 1-04. Crotta U15 team played Causeway in Dromakee last Thursday evening in the North Kerry U15 Championship. This was a great performance by the lads and having led by 0-06 to 0-04 at half time,at one stage they found themselves four points in arrears. The showed great determination in the last fifteen mins to record a win on a scoreline of Crotta 2-10 Causeway 1-11. Crotta’s scores in the first half came from the accuracy of Raymond Nolan(0-05) from frees and a great point from play by Adam O’Sullivan. Causeway upped their game in the second half and raced into a four point lead. Crotta scored two points through Raymond Nolan and a long range Brandon Conway point. Causeway replied from two placed balls to again open a four point gap. A fantastic goal from the boot of Colin Browne in the 45th minute, following some great work by Dominic Nolan who had replaced Niall O’Sullivan, put the minimum between the teams. Dominic Nolan levelled matters with a lovely turn and point from play with five mins remaining.It was all Crotta at this stage and when Adam O’Sullivan found Jordan Conway twenty yards out he made no mistake to put Crotta three points ahead. Causeway laid seige to the Crotta goal for the remainder of the match but a very determined Crotta defensive unit held the visitors at bay.
