MASTER CHEF KILFLYNN!
On Monday 24th of September, 5th and 6th class from St. Teresa’s N.S., Kilflynn went to Prim’s Restaurant, Kilflynn village for a cookery demonstration. Making use of the vegetables they harvested from the school garden, they made a range of delicious dishes. Utilizing the potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage from the school, Chefs at Prim’s John and Karen showed the children how to make potato rosti, colcannon, soup and potato cakes! The children learned so much useful information on safety tips in the kitchen. Some of the children acted as waiters for the day, while others prepped food and tidied up. Everyone got involved in the cooking and of course sampling of the food. They thoroughly enjoyed the whole culinary experience! Well done to everyone involved!

SOCCER
Kilflynn Santos F.C were beaten in a highly entertaining game in the Denny Division 2B round 2 on Monday 1st October, at Mounthawk Park, Tralee by Tralee Athletic 6-3. Kilflynn couldn’t have asked for a better start with Francis Keane scoring for 30 yards. It was back to the wall stuff for rest of half with Henry Donovan making top class saves to keep us in the game. The pressure eventually told and we conceded 3 goals in 5 minutes to leave the score at halftime 3-1.
Changes were made at half time with 3 subs coming on, with the wind now at our backs we began to get a foothold in midfield. A super passing move involving Shane Nolan, Paudie Quill and Bernie Condon brought up back into game with Bernie Condon supply the finish. It was not to be our night as we then conceded 3 soft goals soon after. We showed great fight to the end with Paudie Quill getting our third and Kilflynn also missed a penalty with our stalwart centre back JP McElligott hitting the penalty. It was Kilflynn’s only second game of the season and we have lots of positives to take out of it. Team was as follows: Henry Donovan, Gary Curran, JP McElligott, Jack Twomey, Tom B Mc Elligott, Keith Hannafin, Mark Callaghan, Byran O Mahoney, Colin Curran, Justin Horgan, and Francis Keane. Subs used: Shane Nolan, Bernie Condon, and Paudie Quill. On Sunday October 7th , in the round 3 of Denny Div 2 ‘B’ at 11.30 am. Kilflynn Santos will play Bayview Rovers.
